Partner Agreement
Last updated: August 2026 · Version 2026-08-29
Read this before you pay us. This Agreement governs business accounts on Current. In plain language: subscriptions are month to month and renew automatically until you cancel; cancelling takes effect at the end of the month you already paid for; fees are not refundable; and Current does not promise you any amount of visibility, placement, customers, or revenue. Section 9 and Section 10 limit what you can recover from us. Section 14 requires most disputes to go to arbitration individually rather than to court or a class action.
1. Acceptance and Authority
This Partner Agreement (the "Agreement") is a contract between Current ("Current," "we," or "us") and the business entity that creates or maintains a Partner account ("Partner" or "you"). You accept this Agreement by checking the acceptance box during Partner signup or checkout, by purchasing a paid subscription, or by continuing to use a Partner account after this Agreement takes effect.
If you accept this Agreement on behalf of a business, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old, that you are authorized to bind that business, and that the business is bound by this Agreement. If you do not have that authority, do not create a Partner account.
Our general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy also apply to you. Where this Agreement conflicts with the Terms of Service on a matter relating to Partner accounts, this Agreement controls.
2. Definitions
- Service — the Current mobile applications, websites, partner portal, and related services.
- Partner Account — a business account used to manage a business profile, publish events, and reach subscribers.
- Partner Content — anything you submit, upload, or publish through a Partner Account, including business names, descriptions, photos, logos, hours, event listings, subscriber messages, guides, and promoted creative, and any Pre-Populated Listing Data you adopt under Section 7.
- Pre-Populated Listing Data — business information displayed on the Service before or at the time you claim a business, including names, addresses, map placement, hours, categories, menus, links, descriptions, and photos. This data may come from third-party sources (including Google), public sources, or Current's own research, and is provided as a starting point only.
- Subscription — a recurring paid plan (currently Plus or Pro) or a paid add-on such as Event Autopilot.
- Region — a geographic market Current operates in.
- Subscriber — a Current user who has chosen to follow your business. Shown as a “Follower” in the app and partner dashboard; the two terms mean the same thing in this Agreement.
3. What the Service Is — and What It Is Not
Current is a local discovery platform. A Partner Account gives you tools: a business profile, the ability to publish events, and depending on your tier, the ability to message subscribers, publish content, and view analytics.
A Partner Account is not an advertising buy, and it is not a guarantee of exposure. Except where you separately purchase a promoted placement under Section 4(f), Current does not commit to and does not guarantee any:
- number of impressions, views, taps, or profile visits
- position, ranking, or inclusion in the Explore feed, search results, guides, carousels, or map
- number of subscribers, followers, RSVPs, or event attendees
- amount of foot traffic, bookings, reservations, sales, leads, or revenue
- level of user activity in your Region
Feed composition, ranking, personalization, and editorial curation are determined by Current at its sole discretion and may change at any time, without notice, for any reason. Changes to how content is ranked or surfaced are ordinary product changes, not a reduction in what you purchased.
4. Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation
(a) Month-to-month and automatic renewal
Paid Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically each month until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize Current and its payment processor to charge your payment method the then-current monthly fee, plus applicable taxes, on each renewal date. The amount and billing frequency are shown to you before you complete checkout.
(b) Cancel anytime
You may cancel at any time from the billing page in your partner portal. No phone call, email, or approval is required. Cancellation stops future renewals; it takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for. You keep paid features until then, after which the account reverts to the free Listing tier. Your business profile is not deleted when you cancel.
(c) No refunds
All fees are non-refundable. Except where a refund is required by applicable law, Current does not provide refunds, credits, or prorated returns for any reason, including: partial months; unused time after cancellation; downgrading to a lower tier; not using the Service; dissatisfaction with results; suspension or termination of your account under Section 12; or any interruption, degradation, defect, or discontinuation of the Service described in Section 9.
(d) Discretionary service credits
Current may, in its sole discretion, issue a service credit or partial refund in an individual case. Doing so is voluntary, creates no entitlement, sets no precedent, and does not waive subsection (c) for you or any other Partner.
(e) Price changes
We may change Subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice before the new pricing takes effect. If you do not accept a price change, your remedy is to cancel before it takes effect. If you hold a Founding Partner rate, that rate is locked for as long as your Subscription remains continuously active. If your Subscription lapses, is cancelled, or is terminated, the Founding Partner rate is forfeited and standard pricing applies to any new Subscription.
(f) Promoted placements — a stated exception
Promoted placements are separate one-time purchases of a defined slot for a defined period, not part of your Subscription. Every promoted placement is reviewed before it runs. If a promoted placement is not approved, that purchase is refunded in full — this is the one express exception to subsection (c), and it applies only because the placement was never delivered. Once a placement has run, it is not refundable, and Current does not guarantee any result from it.
(g) Failed payments and taxes
If a payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend or downgrade paid features until payment succeeds. Fees are exclusive of taxes, and you are responsible for any applicable sales, use, or similar taxes. Payments are processed by a third-party processor under its own terms; Current does not store your full payment card details.
5. Partner Content Standards
All Partner Content must comply with our Partner Content Policy, which is incorporated into this Agreement by reference and may be updated from time to time. Two rules are important enough to state here:
(a) No price reductions. Current is not a coupon or deal platform. You may not publish discounts, percentage or dollar amounts off, sale pricing, half-price or two-for-one offers, coupons, promo codes, or specific prices presented as a deal anywhere on Current. You may offer subscribers additional value — an extra or complimentary item, early or priority access, reserved seating, an exclusive event, or an experience not otherwise available. The distinction is added value, not money off.
(b) Accuracy and honoring what you publish. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your hours, event details, and any offer you publish, and for honoring it. If you advertise something to subscribers, you must provide it on the stated terms.
Current may screen, flag, refuse to publish, edit for formatting, or remove any Partner Content at any time, with or without notice. We have no obligation to monitor Partner Content, and reviewing some content does not create a duty to review all of it.
6. License to Partner Content
You retain ownership of your Partner Content. You grant Current a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, cache, reproduce, display, distribute, and publicly perform Partner Content in connection with operating and promoting the Service.
This license expressly includes the right to create derivative renderings for display: resizing, compressing, cropping, generating thumbnails and image variants, composing photos into collages and cover images, extracting colors, and reformatting text for different screens and placements. This is how the product displays your content, and the license must cover it.
The license ends when you remove the content or close your account, except for copies already distributed, cached, or aggregated, and except for content retained in backups or as required by law. You represent that you own or have the rights to all Partner Content, including every photograph you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.
7. Verification and Business Claims
To claim a business, you must complete our verification process. You represent that you own or are authorized to manage the business you claim. Current may require additional verification, may reject a claim, and may reverse a claim if we later determine it was made without authority.
Claiming a business you do not control is a material breach of this Agreement and grounds for immediate termination without refund.
Your listing may be pre-populated. When you claim a business, its profile may already contain Pre-Populated Listing Data. This data is provided “as is,” as a convenience to seed your listing, and Current does not warrant that any of it is accurate, current, or complete.
By claiming a business, you take responsibility for its listing. Promptly after your claim is verified, you must review everything on your profile — including photos, location and map placement, hours, categories, descriptions, menus, and links — and correct or remove anything that is inaccurate, outdated, or that you do not have the right to display. Any Pre-Populated Listing Data you leave in place after claiming is adopted as your own Partner Content, exactly as if you had submitted it yourself, including for purposes of Sections 5, 6, and 14. If you do not have rights to a pre-populated photo, you must remove or replace it.
8. Subscriber Communications
Subscriber messaging is a tier-limited feature with a monthly send allowance. Subscribers chose to follow you and may unfollow at any time. You may use subscriber messaging only to communicate about your own business, events, and offerings.
You may not export, sell, rent, transfer, or use subscriber information for any purpose outside the Service, and you may not add subscribers to any external mailing, SMS, or marketing list based on their presence in your subscriber list. Subscriber data is licensed for use within Current, not transferred to you.
Current may screen messages, delay or decline delivery, reduce your allowance, or suspend your messaging privileges for any violation of this Agreement or the Partner Content Policy. Current does not guarantee delivery of any message, push notification, or alert.
9. Availability, Changes, and Discontinuation of the Service
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Current disclaims all warranties, express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
Current specifically makes no warranty that the Service will be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or free of data loss; that defects will be corrected; that data or analytics will be accurate or complete; or that the Service will produce any commercial result. There is no service level agreement and no uptime commitment.
Current may at any time, with or without notice, modify, degrade, limit, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, including any feature, tier, integration, or Region, and may discontinue the Service entirely. None of the following is a breach of this Agreement, and none entitles you to a refund, credit, damages, offset, or any other remedy:
- outages, downtime, slowness, or degraded performance, whether brief or extended
- bugs, defects, data errors, or loss of data
- reduced discoverability, visibility, ranking, or reach, for any reason
- changes to or removal of any feature, tier, or benefit
- failures of third-party providers we depend on, including Google Cloud and Firebase, Stripe, Twilio, Apple, and Google
- removal of the app from any app store
- Current ceasing operations in your Region, or discontinuing the Service entirely
Your sole and exclusive remedy if you are dissatisfied with the Service for any reason — including any of the events listed above — is to stop using it and cancel your Subscription.
If Current discontinues the Service entirely, we will make commercially reasonable efforts to give advance notice and will stop billing you going forward. Amounts already paid for the then-current period are not refunded.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Current and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, suppliers, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, and will not be liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, lost or diminished customers, lost sales, lost bookings, lost goodwill, reputational harm, business interruption, or the cost of substitute services, arising out of or relating to this Agreement or the Service — even if Current has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Aggregate cap. Current's total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to this Agreement or the Service, regardless of the form of action or theory of liability — whether in contract, warranty, tort (including negligence), strict liability, statute, or otherwise — will not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees you actually paid to Current in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred United States dollars ($100).
These limitations apply even if a limited remedy is found to have failed of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you; in that case the exclusions and limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted.
The parties agree that these limitations are a fundamental basis of the bargain, and that Current would not offer the Service at the stated prices without them.
11. Indemnification
You will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Current and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, judgments, fines, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
- your Partner Content, including Pre-Populated Listing Data you adopted, and any claim that it is inaccurate, misleading, or infringing
- the goods, services, events, or experiences you actually provide, and any injury, illness, or loss connected to them
- any offer, perk, price, or representation you published and failed to honor
- your claim to or management of a business you were not authorized to control
- your use of subscriber information
- your violation of this Agreement, the Partner Content Policy, or any applicable law, including advertising, consumer protection, alcohol service, food safety, licensing, accessibility, and privacy laws
12. Suspension and Termination
Current may suspend or terminate your Partner Account, any tier, or any individual feature at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. Measures include flagging content for review, removing content, issuing a warning, pausing subscriber messaging, revoking a tier, and closing the account.
You may terminate this Agreement at any time by cancelling your Subscription and ceasing use of your Partner Account. No refund is owed on termination by either party.
These sections survive termination: 5 (as to content already published), 6 (as to the license carve-outs), 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17.
13. Force Majeure
Current is not liable for any failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disaster, fire, flood, epidemic, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, governmental action, power or internet failure, cyberattack, and the failure, suspension, price change, or discontinuation of any third-party service the Service depends on, including Google Cloud and Firebase, Stripe, Twilio, Apple, and Google.
14. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
Informal resolution first. Before starting a formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at [email protected] with a written description of the dispute and the relief you seek, and to give us 30 days to resolve it.
Binding arbitration. If we cannot resolve the dispute informally within 30 days, either party may submit it to binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will be before a single arbitrator and will take place in Spokane County, Washington, or by videoconference if both parties agree. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Individual basis only. All proceedings will be conducted on an individual basis. You and Current each waive any right to bring or participate in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action, and the arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any representative proceeding. If this waiver is held unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim must proceed in court and is severed from arbitration.
Carve-outs. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property or confidential information.
One-year limitations period. Any claim arising out of or relating to this Agreement or the Service must be brought within one (1) year after the claim arose, or it is permanently barred, except where a longer period is required by law.
15. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. For any matter not subject to arbitration, the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Spokane County, Washington.
16. Entire Agreement and No Reliance
This Agreement, together with the Partner Content Policy, the Terms of Service, and the Privacy Policy, is the entire agreement between you and Current regarding Partner Accounts, and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous proposals, discussions, and understandings.
You acknowledge that you are not relying on any statement, representation, projection, estimate, demonstration, sales presentation, pitch deck, marketing material, or website copy that is not expressly written in this Agreement. Marketing and promotional statements describe what the Service does; they are not promises of results and do not modify this Agreement.
17. General
Changes. We may modify this Agreement. For material changes, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or in the partner portal. Continued use of your Partner Account after the effective date, or your next renewal, constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept a change, cancel before it takes effect.
Assignment. You may not assign this Agreement without our written consent. Current may assign it freely, including in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Independent parties. Nothing here creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, franchise, or agency relationship.
Notices. We may send notices to the email address on your Partner Account. You are responsible for keeping it current.
Severability and waiver. If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest remains in effect. A failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
