Spokane Chiefs vs. Portland Winterhawks

Hosted by Spokane Arena

The Chiefs host the Portland Winterhawks in a Western Hockey League matchup, which means major junior hockey — teenagers and draft-eligible prospects playing a fast, physical game with real stakes. Portland is a longtime U.S. Division rival, so these games tend to carry an edge, with plenty of hits and back-and-forth pushes in the third. Expect a loud building whenever the Chiefs get a power play. Spokane Arena is the region's big indoor room, the place that handles everything from hockey nights to arena-scale concerts. It's a broad, all-ages crowd — families, season ticket regulars, and groups of friends filling in the bowl.
