Spokane Chiefs vs. Portland Winterhawks

Hosted by Spokane Arena

The Chiefs are Spokane's major junior hockey club, playing in the WHL — fast, physical, teenage-prospect hockey where a lot of the roster is skating in front of NHL scouts. Portland is an old division rival, and Winterhawks games tend to bring some edge with them, both on the ice and in the stands. Expect a loud building, a few scrums after the whistle, and the kind of crowd that includes both season-ticket regulars and families out for the night. The Arena is the big indoor room in town, the one that handles everything from touring concerts to playoff hockey, so the energy scales up with the size of the crowd.
