The Black Jacket Symphony Presents Bon Jovi's 'Slippery When Wet'
Hosted by The Fox Theater
The Black Jacket Symphony builds its shows around a single classic album played straight through, note for note, by a rotating cast of musicians assembled for the record at hand. This time it's Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet — the 1986 album that gave us "Livin' on a Prayer," "You Give Love a Bad Name" and "Wanted Dead or Alive." After the album ends, the band typically comes back for a second set of the artist's bigger hits, so expect a crowd that knows every word and isn't shy about it. The Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox is a restored art deco hall downtown, all warm curves and gold detailing, with acoustics built for listening rather than milling around. It's a seated room, which makes for an interesting contrast with arena-rock singalongs.
