World Ballet Company: Swan Lake
Hosted by First Interstate Center for the Arts
Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake is the big one — the white swan and black swan, Odette and Odile, the lakeside corps moving in long unbroken lines, and a score most people recognize whether or not they've ever sat through a ballet. World Ballet Company is a touring production that brings full-length classical story ballets to theaters around the country, with live-theater staging, hand-made costumes and an international cast. It's a good entry point if you've never seen a ballet, and a familiar comfort if you've seen this one a dozen times. First Interstate Center for the Arts is the large downtown theater that handles touring productions and family shows, so expect a proper proscenium stage, a big house, and an audience that runs from ballet students to grandparents.
